How to get to Foshan from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Macao, Shenzhen

There are several ways to reach Foshan: by bus, taxi, metro, train and a ferry.
How to get to Foshan from Hong Kong?
There are only two direct options to get from Hong Kong to Foshan: ferry and bus.
By ferry
The boat comes and goes only 5 times a day but if you have 2 hours to enjoy the scenery, the weather, and the sea air, this is what you’re looking for. We recommend this transport in case you need to visit Shunde district of Foshan first. Taxi to the city center will take you another hour and around 150 RMB.
Shunde Port – Hong Kong – Shunde Port
Address: Desheng Dong Road, Shunde District
Departure time from Hong Kong: 08:30, 11:00, 13:30, 15:20, 18:00
Departure time from Shunde: 08:00, 09:30, 11:00, 15:00, 18:00
Ticket price: HKD199 (CNY175)
Voyage Duration: 1h 55m
By Bus
A bus takes 3-4 hours one way depending on the traffic. This is the most common and frequently operating direct transport between Hong Kong and Foshan but not the best choice for a fast ride. Remember that bus stops at the border, all the passengers have to get off, cross the border and 2 customs (Hongkongnese and Chinese), find their bus on the parking lot and then continue the journey. There are many bus stops in Hong Kong for this service so if you do not want to go far to the train station this is your choice. However, it’s not the fastest or most comfortable way of traveling. If you travel with children, older people or pregnant ladies, we strongly recommend the train to Guangzhou.

Kowloon West - Guangzhou South
End of September 2018 CRP has announced the opening of the HK-Beijing high-speed railway which, of course, stops in Guangzhou. There are many advantages: short traveling time (1hour on average against 2 hours from Hong Hum station), price is close to bus round-trip ticket cost, new comfortable train which guarantees quiet traveling space, no need to go out on the border, the customs check (both CPR and Hong Kong) is done after arrival to avoid the fuss during the trip, and let the train go nonstop through the border.
Kowloon West station is on the same line for Hong Kong Airport express and takes only about 30-40 minutes — the same amount of time as from Guangzhou South to Foshan city center. Total 2.5-3 hours from the Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou South including ticket collecting, boarding, and customs.
