If you plan to visit city beaches during the holidays or weekends, be prepared to see hundreds of thousands of people. However, it’s easy to find a better spot, just moving further away from the main human crowds.

For those who want a relaxing holiday, consider one of the remote suburbs like Huizhou (惠州). Food prices here are slightly higher than in the city, but the place is chill and tranquil, and water quality is better than near the Shenzhen. Although there are not so many entertainments in Huizhou bays, it is better to go for 3-4 days, excluding weekends for total relaxation.
